Baby Shower 1... Success

Well, this little gem of a baby sure has lots of love surrounding her.  We had our Moline showers last weekend, and............ WOW!!! (Yes, that does say "showers".  It's not a typo.)  I didn't realize that so much could be done with a football theme, especially for a little girl.  However, I was wrong. The ladies gathered at Grandma Betty's house for the traditional baby shower festivities, and the guys gathered at Terry/Mom's house to celebrate with Tony and to eat pizza, drink beer, and watch a basketball game.

It all "kicked off" on Friday night when Tony got a Daddy Emergency Kit, which will definitely come in handy.  He is all set with snacks, drinks, baby supplies, and lots of other goodies.  Now, if I could only get my OWN hospital bag ready!!! I've got plenty of time...right???

The second quarter took place on Saturday afternoon.  The decorations and food were over the top!  A very, very special thank you goes out to Terry/Mom and Addie.  You went way out of your way to make the afternoon and night perfect.  We also owe special thank yous to Josie, Grandma Betty, and Maria.  You guys rock!  Thank you for helping with decorations, food, all the prep work, and for providing a shower location.

We really got some amazingly thoughtful gifts.  Baby Kruse's closet and dresser are jam packed with clothes and accessories!  We are making progress with the rest of the baby necessities too.  Some other things that she was showered with were a bouncer, bottles, gorgeous blankets (she got four!!!), bath time goodies, and so much more.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!  We truly appreciate every gift (even the ones that were purchased over and over and over and....  Well, you know.  Target's registry was not so "user friendly").

My Newest Guilty (or not) Indulgence

Yep, that's right.  It's wine.  BUT...if you look closely, the label does say alcohol removed.  Think along the same concept as O'Douls non-alcoholic beer, but just wine.

I really miss having a glass of wine every so often, especially after a long day at work.  I found this about a month ago and tried it (the white).  I mixed it with orange juice, so I couldn't really tell how good or bad it was.  It was more a festive drink.  However, I tried it again recently and really liked it.  It's definitely NOT the same as wine (for obvious reasons), but it's tasty and does have just a very mild wine taste.

I am currently sipping on the red as I write this.  It's not bad.  It's not great, but it serves its purpose.  Let's be honest... Anyone who expects this to taste exactly like wine is crazy.  The alcohol is removed during a heating process, but for those of us who aren't as picky as some of the reviewers of these wines (because we understand what they really are), it's a nice substitute.  At $7.99 a bottle, I think it may be just a bit much when the good stuff is missing, but in reality that's not really a lot at all.  Tony's craft beer obsession costs way more than that!

I realize that some people may judge me for blogging about this, but I don't really care too much.  I don't feel the need to even defend myself.  The alcohol is removed, and I haven't had a bit of it since we found out the great news.  CHEERS!
